Our persistant registry for IDE devices (Compact Flash, Hard drives, IBM microdrives, and any other IDE device) works on X86 platforms and many other platforms.

It reads the registry from a file on the ide disk/flash at boot time via the oeminit. It does not need a warm reboot, since it uses the ReadRegistryFromOEM call).

For writing the registry, it writes the registry directly to file on disk/flash (via a WriteRegistryToOem function). You may also use a RegFlushKey if so desired.

It has been tested on Sandisk CompactFlash, Lexar, IBM Microdrives, Several Hard drives vendors, and many others.
